The establishment of the CCF Children's Cancer Foundation in Germany.

Founding of the CCF Children Cancer Foundation in Germany

Following its official establishment in Stuttgart, the CCF Children Cancer Foundation is now expanding its work to Germany. A new contact point for families with children and young people affected by cancer is being created at the Alte Waisenhaus site. The foundation's aim is to provide swift and unburdensome support to affected families where other support systems reach their limits.

Building on the long-standing work of the CCF Children Cancer Foundation in Liechtenstein and Switzerland, the new foundation strengthens the previous commitment in Germany. "Our motivation was simple right from the start: we wanted to help families — not with forms, but with our hearts," says Friedhelm Gruber, founder of the CCF Children's Cancer Foundation.
The location in the Altes Waisenhaus is intended to become a place where help, support and hope converge. 'The foundation aims to support families during one of the most challenging periods of their lives, particularly when financial concerns add to their burden,' says Ulrike Weinz, Chairwoman of the CCF Germany Foundation.

The people behind the foundation
The German CCF is supported by individuals from a variety of fields:

  • Rena Clute-Simon, an international management consultant, contributes her expertise from the foundation sector and management consultancy.
  • Lisa Maria Roeder, a tax consultant at Ebner Stolz, uses her expertise to ensure transparency and reliable structures.
  • Professor Dr Regula Rapp, Rector of the Barenboim-Said Akademie, contributes her cultural and social expertise.
  • Ulrike Weinz, the foundation's director, is responsible for operational management and has many years of experience in social commitment and foundation work.

A strong network in Stuttgart
The CCF has an established network of clinics, initiatives and supporters in Stuttgart. The new foundation sees itself as supplementary to existing services, providing flexible support where it is needed. 'There are already many great organisations in Stuttgart — the CCF aims to fill the gaps where families need additional support,' says Ulrike Weinz.
